Protect and brand your photos

A watermark is a visible mark, usually a name, website address or logo, placed on top of an image. Photographers use watermarks to show who took a picture, online sellers use them to stop competitors copying product photos, and businesses use them to brand everything they share on social media. This tool adds a text or logo watermark to your photo with full control over its size, colour, opacity and position, and shows a live preview as you adjust it.

Your photo and logo are processed in the browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, which matters when the images you are protecting are not public yet.

How to add a watermark

  1. Drop the photo you want to watermark onto the upload area.
  2. Choose Text watermark or Logo image.
  3. For text, type your watermark and choose the font, size, colour, bold and shadow options. For a logo, add your logo file and set its width.
  4. Pick a position, such as bottom right, or choose Tiled to repeat the watermark diagonally across the whole picture.
  5. Adjust the opacity and margin, check the preview, then press Download watermarked image.

Features

  • Text or logo watermarks, with PNG logos keeping their transparency.
  • Nine positions plus a tiled pattern that is hard to crop out.
  • Size relative to the image, so the watermark looks the same on small and large photos.
  • Opacity control from subtle to solid.
  • Optional shadow to keep light text readable on bright backgrounds.
  • Full resolution output in the original format, PNG, JPG or WebP.

Choosing a watermark style

A small corner watermark at 40 to 60% opacity is the most common choice. It credits you without spoiling the picture, which suits portfolios and social posts. A tiled watermark across the whole image offers much stronger protection and is popular for proofs sent to clients and stock style previews, because it cannot be removed with a simple crop. A centred watermark sits in between. Whatever you choose, keep the style consistent across your images so people recognise your brand.

Tips for a professional result

White text with a soft shadow works on most photos. Use a dark colour on very bright images such as snow or beach scenes. Keep text short, for example your name or domain, so it stays readable at small sizes. For logos, use a PNG with a transparent background so only the logo itself appears. Always keep an unwatermarked original, because a watermark cannot be removed from the saved copy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my own logo as a watermark?

Yes. Choose Logo image, then add your logo file. A PNG or SVG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result.

Will the watermark reduce my photo quality?

The photo keeps its full resolution. Saving as JPG or WebP applies light compression at 92% quality, and PNG adds no compression loss.

Can I watermark many photos at once?

This tool watermarks one photo at a time. Your settings stay in place, so you can load the next photo and download it with the same watermark.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The watermark is drawn by your browser on your own device and nothing is sent to a server.
